VMP began in 1998 when founder Mr Vikas K. Mishra started trading industrial tools and, soon after, fasteners from Pune. As India's automotive industry rose, VMP earned direct vendorship with names like Tata Motors and Ashok Leyland — and a corporate office in Pune followed in 2005.

In 2015–16, VMP took the leap into manufacturing, incorporating VMP Auto Fasteners Pvt. Ltd. and commissioning a plant at Pantnagar, Sidcul. Today VMP manufactures the full range of nuts, bolts, screws, weld nuts, rivets and washers under its own brand, serving OEMs across domestic and export markets.
